The consistent struggles and hardships of life are inevitable, and the resilience and strength needed to face such challenges can be hard to come by. We may be left wondering why we are unable to deal with what life throws at us in productive ways, why we seem to get stuck in negativity, and how our shortcomings reflect who we are as people. These are entirely natural parts of being a human being that unfortunately only seem to make facing the inevitable difficulties of life even more difficult.

My focus in therapy is to help you find your innate and inner capacities for resilience and strength that will allow you to traverse the terrains of life with greater ease and equanimity. I believe that the best way to find these qualities is, quite simply, to know and remain true to yourself and your values. It is often hard to know ourselves and what our values truly are; life has a way of distancing us from our innermost selves and its feelings and needs. Therapy provides a clear path forward in such self-discovery. It is a journey toward recognizing what in life is most important to you, and learning to see, hear, trust, love, and nurture that truest self within with deep clarity and understanding.

I welcome clients of all genders, orientations, backgrounds, and identities to embark on this journey that is so essential to living life to the fullest. My simple approach is to join and help you on this path and to support the growth that will naturally come from it. I take a client-centered and present-moment focus to each session where we will work together to achieve goals that matter to you. It is my top priority to ensure that you are supported, validated, and valued, no matter what you are doing or experiencing, and I do so through maintaining attitudes of non-judgement, understanding, compassion, and acceptance. It is also my responsibility to challenge you in areas that might hinder your growth, and I do so with an unwavering belief in your ability to achieve whatever you put your mind to. I integrate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), and strengths-based techniques into my practice, but tailor my approach to your individual goals and desires.  I thank you for your interest and look forward to getting to know you and supporting your growth in discovering and embodying your truest self.
