Kristina Aran, LMHC, NCC, is the Founder and Clinical Director of Evolve Integrative Psychotherapy.
Kristina is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional. She is passionate about helping people become more aware of their emotions, their needs, and helping them grow in self-acceptance and emotional intelligence. Her specialties include working with adults, couples and families to treat symptoms of Depression, Anxiety, Phobias, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), complex trauma, relationship issues, communication difficulties, parenting struggles, sex addictions, ADHD and many other disorders.
Kristina also specializes in working with couples. Her approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and evidence-based. She works with each couple to develop a personalized treatment plan that is tailored to their unique needs and goals. She is trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and the Gottman Method.
Kristina is uniquely equipped to help clients process and recover from the deep emotional wounds caused by trauma. Her trauma-informed approach ensures that clients feel safe, respected, and empowered as they work through their experiences. She utilizes evidence-based methods such as Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help clients rebuild a sense of stability, self-worth, and resilience. creating a warm, trusting and welcoming environment.
Kristina is also a Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional (CSTIP), with specialized expertise in addressing sensitive issues surrounding intimacy, sexuality, and relationships. This certification allows her to provide comprehensive support for individuals and couples struggling with concerns such as performance anxiety, mismatched libido, intimacy challenges, and other sexual health issues. She fosters a safe, open, and non-judgmental environment, helping clients address these deeply personal concerns and develop healthier, more fulfilling relationships.
Kristina uses a combination of methods for a more person-centered, attachment-based, solution-focused, and holistic therapy modalities to foster personal growth, self-exploration, and positive therapeutic outcomes. She creates a comfortable, judgement-free, safe space for people to be open, honest, kind, and more compassionate with themselves. In therapy, she utilizes a variety of methods that would be most helpful and supportive for her clients. Moreover, her interest lies in understanding the mind-body-spirit connection. Therefore, she regularly utilizes mindfulness exercises and positive psychology techniques in her practice to help clients reach their full potential, recognize their strengths, and reduce reactivity and irritability.
Kristina Aran, M.A., LMHC, CMCS, is an intuitive and experienced Mental Health Professional with passion for providing accessible and integrative services, learning and guidance. Highly experienced in counseling and therapy, assessments, diagnosis, program development, advocacy, and case management with over 15 years working with diverse population.
Kristina obtained her Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling at NYU. Currently, she holds a Clinical Mental Health Counseling License in NYS (LHMC) and a provisonal license in Connecticut, she also recenlty obtained a National Certified Counselor certification (NCC).
