Jada Maldonado, LMHC
Jada is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a warm approach and a genuine passion for helping people feel truly understood. As a born and raised New Yorker and proud Latina, she grew up immersed in the city's mix of cultures and communities. This upbringing shaped how naturally she connects with people from all different backgrounds and life experiences. Her path into counseling began at SUNY Albany, where she earned her Bachelor's in Sociology and Human Development with a concentration in counseling psychology. There, she first grew curious about what shapes the way we think, feel, and relate to one another. That curiosity carried her to Baruch College, where she completed her Master's in Mental Health Counseling and began working directly with clients across community and private practice settings.
Since then, Jada has worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, and groups, supporting people through trauma, neurodivergence, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship and family conflict, self-esteem struggles, LGBTQIA+ issues, and major life transitions. No matter how much clinical knowledge and experience she brings into the room, she leads first with curiosity, genuinely wanting to understand each client's story before anything else. She draws from an integrative mix of approaches, such as psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral, person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed methods, shaping her approach around who's actually in front of her rather than a fixed formula.
At the heart of Jada's work is genuine warmth, honesty, and a good sense of humor. She believes therapy doesn't have to feel clinical or stiff to be effective. She creates a space where clients feel safe enough to be fully themselves, so real healing can happen. She believes every person has the capacity to grow and considers it a privilege to walk alongside her clients as they get there.
