Caroline Powers, MA, MHC-LP
Caroline is a compassionate and experienced Mental Health Counselor, with a Master’s in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from NYU and a BS in Psychology from Yale University, where she focused on neuroscience and emotional intelligence. Before pursuing a career in counseling, she worked extensively in nonprofit organizations, advocating for high-quality education for underserved communities in New York City and beyond. Her work in these environments taught her the importance of resilience and adaptability, experiences she now brings into her therapeutic practice.
Caroline’s approach to therapy is integrative, trauma-informed, and deeply client-centered. She draws on a diverse array of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Additionally, she incorporates psychodynamic techniques to explore underlying patterns and somatic approaches to help clients connect with their physical and emotional experiences. Her multicultural framework allows her to work sensitively across different backgrounds, understanding how individual histories and identities shape one’s mental health journey.
With experience supporting clients through a wide range of challenges—including depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, relationship dynamics, identity exploration, attention disorders, and significant life transitions—Caroline meets each client where they are, guiding them toward meaningful growth and self-discovery. She views therapy as a space where no problem is too big or too small to address and is committed to fostering a non-judgmental, empathetic environment where clients can feel safe to be themselves.
Outside of her professional life, Caroline finds joy in singing, traveling, immersing herself in fiction, baking, and petting every dog she encounters.
